Full-Time Deputy Sheriff
The Keokuk County Sheriff’s Office is accepting applications for the position of full-time Deputy Sheriff. Applicants must meet minimum hiring standards as set by the Iowa Law Enforcement Academy.
Civil Service physical agility testing will begin promptly at 9:00 am on Friday, February 11, 2022 at the Sigourney Jr/Sr High School, 907 E Pleasant Valley Street, Sigourney, Iowa. The physical agility testing will be followed by the written exam at 12:00 pm held at the Keokuk County Sheriff’s Office, 204 S Stone Street, Sigourney, Iowa.
All applicants must be a high school graduate and 18 years of age. Those that have successfully completed 2 years of post-high school education or military service shall be preferred.
Applications may be picked up anytime at the Keokuk County Sheriff’s Office or HERE. Completed applications must be either hand-delivered or received by mail no later than 4:00 pm on Friday, January 28, 2022 to the Keokuk County Sheriff’s Office.
Iowa certified officers who successfully complete the Civil Service testing will be considered for a lateral entry position which can include higher starting wage and a $2,000 bonus after being employed one year. Salary range: non-certified starting at $58,404 and certified starting at a minimum $64,416 (depending on experience).
