Inmate Visitation
Location of Visit
General Visitation is done by Video Visitation through the Reliance system kiosk located in the lobby of the Sheriff’s Department Office and the tablet located in the inmate’s cell. During the following hours, approved visitors will be able to use the office kiosk for visitation on a first-come, first-serve basis.
Tuesday and Thursday
9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.
1:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m.
Per visitation day, each inmate may have one 30 minute visitation. Each approved adult visitor is limited to two visitations per week.
Adult visitors must possess a valid photo ID.
Conduct and Behavior
The jail staff will monitor visitors and inmate conduct during visits, which are also recorded. Inappropriate conduct may result in restrictions, suspension or termination of visiting privileges.
Inmate Mail
For security reasons, any non-privileged mail will be opened, inspected for contraband, and read. The Keokuk County Jail only allows letters, photographs and money to be sent in for inmates.
Incoming mail must have the full name and address for both the person sending the mail, as well as for the person to whom the mail is sent. If the incoming letter does not have the full name and return address, the letter will be placed in the inmate’s property locker.

Inmate Phone Service
The Keokuk County Jail uses the Reliance Telephone system as its Inmate communications provider. Inmates can call, text or video chat through the Reliance system.
You can use your smart phone or computer to set up collect calling, fund texting, and buy inmate phone cards online through the Reliance website, funds cannot be added to a Reliance account through the Keokuk County Jail. All transactions are done through the Reliance website or customer service number 1-800-896-3201.
The jail staff will monitor caller and inmate conduct during use, which is also recorded. Inappropriate conduct may result in restrictions, suspension or termination of device privileges.
Commissary
Commissary items may be purchased by family members only through Access Securepak not the Keokuk County Jail. Orders may be placed through the Access Securepak website or by calling 1-800-546-6283.
Inmates can receive a weekly shipment of commissary packages that cannot exceed $50.00 per week. Please note the first order may take 10-14 business days.
If a package is delivered after an inmate has been released it is the responsibility of the inmate or individual who placed the order to make arrangements for the package to be picked up within 30 days.
Inmates are allowed 3 pairs of white socks, 3 pairs of white underwear, and 3 plain white t-shirts. Clothing items must have the inmate’s name or initials written on the inside cuff or band. No other items are allowed to be brought in or sent by any other means than through Access Securepak, this includes all hygiene products.
