Keokuk County Hiring Deputy Sheriff
The Keokuk County Sheriff’s office is currently taking applications to fill two (2) open positions for Deputy Sheriff.
Keokuk County does offer opportunities for lateral transfers. Keokuk County Sheriff’s Office can provide a reimbursement of an active hiring contract as the Sheriff deems appropriate. Iowa certified candidates are not required to perform physically agility or written POST testing to be considered.
Applications for the first round of testing should be turned in on or before July 25, 2025.

Starting wage is from $69,600 to $79,091 annually, depending on experience.
The first opportunity for applicants required to complete the Physical and Written testing will be on August 2, 2025, at 10:00 am at the Keokuk County Sheriff’s Office. You will be notified of additional information when needed.
Additional testing dates, if needed:
- August 30, 2025
- October 4, 2025
Testing dates may be cancelled if a qualified certified list can be approved by the Keokuk County Civil Service Commission to fill the positions.
